This vintage wood and woven rush seat stool has been in the family since the before the middle fifties. Remnants from a family cabin, my husband and his brother recall sitting on this and other such stools from the time they were toddlers to kids. The generation prior has stated that it is around 60 years old. The woven rush is in very good vintage condition. The wood legs are tapered and hand turned. The stained finish shows signs of wear consistent with age and use. It could easily be taped off to protect the rush seat, while being refinished. One leg has a small grain split, superficial only, it does not impact on the stools ability to hold weight. It is a fun, nostalgic piece perfect for use at the lake cottage or cabin year round, outside during the summer or in. Rugged, and just the size for kids to pickup and move around on their own, while the perfect height, not too far off the ground. Start your own family tradition!
